Find Peace In A Noisy World

We live in a time when the world’s noise, chaos, and separation are only a swipe away. Unlike years ago, when the news came on just for a few hours each day, today we can access global events 24/7, right from the palm of our hand. With social media, notifications, and rolling headlines, it’s easy to absorb more than our hearts and minds can handle.
This is why boundaries are no longer a luxury, they’re essential. Being mindful of what we watch, read, and listen to helps protect our peace. Apps and tools are available (many of them free) to help you block or limit certain content if you find it hard to switch off. Even if you don’t use your phone much, it’s worth noticing how much you’re letting into your own energy field. I’m currently using a free app called ‘refocus’ which is great to prevent doom scrolling.
I’m not suggesting we become ignorant to what’s happening in the world. But in today’s media-saturated environment, where mainstream and social media can be overwhelming and sometimes one-sided, we must consciously choose what we allow into our minds and homes.

If you have children, this is especially important. Sensitive little ones often pick up on global events and the emotions that come with them, even when they’re just sitting in the car on the way to school. What are they hearing? What are you playing? Sometimes the content we want to stay informed about isn’t what’s healthiest for them to absorb.

Creating boundaries around information is one piece of the puzzle. The other is filling yourself with what nourishes you:
🌿 Take time each day to breathe deeply, meditate, or ground yourself in nature.
🌿 Book a massage, facial or another treatment.
🌿Take a long soak in the bath.
🌿 Meet up with friends, laugh, and hug, laughter releases endorphins, dopamine, oxytocin and serotonin, which all lower stress, boost mood and strengthen your immune system.
🌿 Explore a new hobby or revive an old one.
These small actions help keep you centred, calm, and strong, no matter what’s happening in the world. You are not powerless; you can choose peace. And from that place of peace, you show up more grounded, resilient, and compassionate for yourself and others.
